Frequently Asked Questions
I've tried to address some of the common questions about therapy and my practice.
1
How long does therapy last?
That is completely up to you! Some individuals have a specific outcome in mind - a reduction in symptoms or addressing a specific question. Others may simply want to sit down with someone who will listen as they explore deeper questions or past experiences. This means the length of time spent in therapy will vary greatly from person to person; however my goal is to help you feel better and complete therapy whenever feels best for you. Clients are also welcome to return in the future to continue their ongoing work.
2
What happens if we are not a good fit?
Therapist-client fit is an extremely important aspect of therapy that I don't believe gets talked about enough. My style may not be the best fit for you - and that's okay! If we are not a good fit, I will provide you with referrals to find someone you'll work well with.
3
Do you offer a sliding scale or low-fee options?
In order to assist those experiencing a financial hardship, I offer a limited number of low-fee sessions through Open Path Psychotherapy Collective, a membership-based service linking clients with affordable mental health care.
4
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
If you're asking yourself this question, chances are that you could benefit from therapy. Therapy is for everyone - you don't need to have a certain "issue" or wait until things get "bad enough". Let's chat and see whether you're ready to enter therapy.
